In preparation for this year's Sail The Bay event we will be meeting at John and Pam Klavenski's home located at 3005 Cape Henry Drive in Virginia Beach on Tuesday, May 13 at 6 o'clock (pm) to assemble the trophy elements. We will also be inspecting the fleet trailer contents to ensure that all of the marks, flags, horns and other equipment are in sufficient order for the season.
We could certainly use as many extra hands as possible, so please join us. John Klavenski and Dan Berger have worked very hard to create this year's trophies for Sail The Bay, so be sure to thank them, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WIN ONE!

The June general meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at C.P. Shuckers, located at 3232 Shore Drive in Virginia Beach.
We will begin planning for The Raven "Rookie" Race and the Version 2.6/Chick's Beach Regatta as well as discussing Sail The Bay event results.
As the March meeting has officially come and gone, membership dues for 2008 have increased to $40 and $55 for single and family, respectively. Fleet membership is important in helping to offset recurring fleet expenses such as equipment maintenance and storage, insurance and the annual Christmas Party. If you participate in Fleet 32 hosted events and have not already done so, please consider joining the fleet by clicking the link below and submitting your payment via PayPal or personal check.
Minutes from April's fleet meeting now available. 2008 Rappahannock Rivah Regatta (R3)
The 2008 Rappahannock Rivah Regatta will be held in Farnham, Virginia, just up the road from Tappahannock. The event will be held May 3rd and 4th. Please visit the NOR for more information and for a fillable mail-in pre-registration form. Entry is $30/$35 (single-handed/double-handed). Pre-payment for this year's event is NOT REQUIRED, but participants registering after MIDNIGHT, SATURDAY, April 19 will incur an additional $10 late fee. Please direct all event-specific questions to Scott Duff.
Now you can pay your annual membership dues online with PAYPAL! Fleet 32 now accepts online payments directly from your checking or savings account or you can even pay by credit card, it's your choice! We will still accept membership payments by check, but we are migrating towards online payments for all event and membership transactions.
During 2007 we successfully experimented with online pre-registration and payment for a few regattas. In 2008 every event will have advance registration and payment options so that all you will have to do is show up and race! Sure, you can bring your checkbook and do it the old-fashioned way... but everyone else will be sailing while you're filling out forms!
Click on one of the links below for more Information. I want to become a member! How do I sign up for the email list? Please make sure you give a big thanks to fleet members Kevin Baum for graciously storing The Fleet Trailer through April and Jason DiPietro for volunteering to keep it for the remainder of the season.
If anyone would be able to securely store or park a 4'x8' box trailer at their residence or place of business for the 2009 season we would be most appreciative of the offer.
Multihull Competition Eliminated From Olympics
The ISAF voted to remove the Tornado class from the Olympics starting in 2012, condensing the number of classes from 11 to 10 and leaving no multihull representation in the Olympics. This is contrary to many of the strides the multihull community has made in the sailing world, including introducing a spinnaker-rigged Hobie 16 as a women's Pan Am Games class. This is not the first time the ISAF has tried to eliminate multihulls from the Olympics. A petition board has been set to try and curry favor for the classes reinstatement.
